4: Petra, Jordan
Petra in Jordan feels like a hidden movie set carved into the desert. The most famous view appears after walking through a narrow canyon, where the huge stone façade suddenly comes into sight. The building, known as the Treasury, was carved directly into rose-colored rock. Its dramatic entrance, tall columns, and warm desert light make it look like something from an adventure film. But Petra is not a prop or a set. It is an ancient city with real history, real stonework, and real mystery. That surprise reveal is what makes it so unforgettable.
