In today’s world, putting a phone away can feel like a powerful message. At this dinner table, the phone sits face down while the conversation continues. That small habit says, “You have my attention.” People do not always need dramatic gestures to show respect. Sometimes, attention is shown by removing distractions. A phone on the table can silently compete with the person speaking. But when someone turns it over, keeps it aside, or stops checking it, the mood changes. The conversation feels more personal.
