13: Pencil Tip
A sharpened pencil looks simple, but a close-up view turns it into a dramatic landscape. The graphite point rises like a dark mountain peak, while the wooden casing looks rough, cracked, and full of tiny fibers. Every cut mark and splinter becomes visible. From a distance, it is just a tool for writing. Up close, it shows layers of wood, graphite, and texture that are easy to miss. Even the most ordinary desk item can look surprising.
